Quick Tips to Boost Your Metabolism

There are a lot of people who would give a lot to increase their metabolism. Having a high level of metabolism enables one to maintain burn fat and lose weight fast with the least amount of activity. Metabolism is the rate by which the body produces and consumes energy and calories to support life.

There are several factors that affect the metabolism of a person, such as the amount of muscle tissue, the frequency of the meals one consumes, genetics, stress levels, personal diet and activity levels. Metabolism slows done due to the following: loss of muscle because of not enough physical activity, the tendency of the body to cannibalize its own tissue because there is not enough food energy to sustain it, and the decrease of physical activity that comes naturally with old age.

Here are several ways to fire up one's metabolism:

1. Build up on lean, mean body mass. It is only natural that metabolism decreases along with age, but it is possible to counter the effects. The amount of muscle a person has is a very strong determinant in the ability to burn calories and shed fat. So it goes without saying that exercise is essential. Build strength and resistance by working out at least twice a week, preferably with weights. Do easy exercises in between workouts. Simple tasks such as walking the dog and using the stairs in place of the elevator can already take off calories. The key is to match the amount of eating to the amount of activity one has. Here are some guidelines in getting the right exercise:

For strength training

-Increase the amount of repetitions of a particular exercise.
-Add the level of resistance
-Utilize advance exercise techniques if possible

For cardiovascular training

-Insert intervals between exercises
-Perform cross-training and combine the exercises
-Add up on resistance and speed

2. Eat breakfast. A lot of people are ignoring the fact that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Surprisingly, the ones who eat breakfast are thinner than the ones who do not. Metabolism can slow down considerably if breakfast is taken during mid-morning or if one waits until the afternoon to eat.

3. Avoid sugar. Sugar enables the body to store fat. It is recommended that a person consumes food that helps sustain an even level of blood-sugar. Additionally, progressive execerise 2-3 times a week should be in order to stabilize blood sugar.

4. Eat spicy foods. Hot cuisine with peppers can increase metabolism.

5. Sleep more. According to research, it is riskier for people who do not get enough sleep to gain weight. Also, muscles are regenerated during the last couple of hours of slumber.

6. Increase water intake. Water flushes out toxins that are produced whenever the body burns fat. Majority of bodily functions involves water, and lack of water causes the body system's operations to decrease its speed, and produces unneeded stress as a result.

7. Eat smaller meals. It is advisable to consume 4 to 6 small meals that are timed 2 to 3 hours apart.

8. Never skip meals. People tend to skip meals in order to lose weight, which is a big mistake since it slows down metabolism.

9. Plan meals in detail. Always prepare the right amount of food to be consumed at the designated intervals. Do not commit the mistake of eating meals in sporadic patterns.

9. Ditch the stress! Stress, be it physical or emotional, triggers the release of a steroid called cortisol, which decreases metabolism. Also, people tend to eat excessively when stressed.

10. Guzzle up on green tea. It can be used as a substitute for coffee. Tea has the ability to stimulate metabolism, and unlike coffee, it has no undesirable side effects when too much is consumed.

11. Include more energy foods in the diet, such as fruits and vegetables, beans and whole grains.

Achieving the desired body weight is never impossible if one has the determination and patience needed to stabilize the metabolism level, which plays an important role in weight loss. A person needs to realize that eating right and working out is not just a passing fancy, but a way of life.

Penis Fact #13

Better-looking men may have stronger sperm. Spanish researchers showed women photos of guys who had good, average, and lousy sperm—and told them to pick the handsomest men. The women chose the best sperm producers most often.

Turns out size does matter

Turns out size does matter: The longer your penis, the better "semen displacement" you'll achieve when having sex with a woman flush with competing sperm. That's according to researchers at the State University of New York, who used artificial phalluses (ahem) to test the "scooping" mechanism of the penis's coronal ridge. Next up: curing cancer.

How do I keep my penis in good condition?

It is important to maintain personal hygiene, but too much washing with soap and detergents can make you sore.
There is a great temptation to use talc and deodorants, but these are best avoided because talc will get under the foreskin where it may cause irritation.
You should wash your penis gently and retract the foreskin regularly (such as when you have a bath or shower).
As for checking your testicles, this is well worthwhile to detect any changes in the scrotum at the earliest possible stage.
While most lumps in the scrotum are not cancers, it is essential that young men should be aware of any lump in the testes. Testicular tumours are now the most common cancer of young men.
If you examine your scrotum each time you wash yourself, you will then be aware of any changes.
And if anything seems different, ask your GP to check you; your doctor will not be remotely embarrassed as checking male genitalia is something that is done every day in the surgery.

Penis Fact #7

Only one man in 400 is flexible enough to give himself oral pleasure. It's estimated, however, that all 400 have given it their best shot at some point.

Penis Fact #6

Circumcised foreskin can be reconstructed. Movable skin on the shaft of the penis is pulled toward the tip and set in place with tape. Later, doctors apply plastic rings, caps, and weights. Years can pass until complete coverage is attained....Okay, we'll shut up now.

Penis Fact #5

The oldest known species with a penis is a hard-shelled sea creature called Colymbosathon ecplecticos. That's Greek for "amazing swimmer with large penis." Which officially supplants Buck Naked as the best porn name, ever.

Penis Fact

The average male orgasm lasts 6 seconds. Women get 23 seconds. Which means if women were really interested in equality, they'd make sure we have four orgasms for every one of theirs.

Penis Fact #3

An enlarged prostate gland can cause both erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. If you have an unexplained case of either, your doctor's looking forward to checking your prostate. Even if you're not.

Facts You Didn't Know About Your Penis

Smoking can shorten your penis by as much as a centimeter. Erections are all about good bloodflow, and lighting up calcifies blood vessels, stifling erectile circulation. So even if you don't care all that much about your lungs or dying young, spare the li'l guy

What Are the Risks You Are Putting Yourself with Penis Enlargement Surgery?

We always look for a quick fix for all our problems. The same way men with small penis size are always in search of a fix to get enlarged penis. Sometimes, they are so desperate that they want to adopt whatever method is available to them. What is an average of the penis for a man? Is my penis big enough to satisfy my partner? These are some of the intriguing questions that men ask to know where they stand in terms of an ideal man.
One myth associated with penis size is that only a bigger penis can satisfy a woman. It is this reason that provokes most men to desire for a bigger package. But in reality, even a small sized penis (bigger than micro-penis) can satisfy a woman. A micro-penis is a condition wherein the size of the penis is less than 3 inches when erect and is incapable of penetration.
A fear of rejection becomes part of the life for men with smaller tools and they feel embarrassed undressing in front of women. Consequently, women might also get frustrated due to under performance of men with small penis and might criticize them for their condition. Humiliation and criticism can diminish men's self-esteem and self-confidence. This is one of the reasons why a man thinks about going for penis enlargement.
  • Sexual frustration
If a man is frustrated about his manhood and his sex life is going through a rough phase because of his inadequate penis size, he can become very desperate in taking help of various invasive methods to increase the size of the penis. One of the first things that might come to his mind is penile implant or a penis enhancement surgery. Despite this method being very expensive with high risk factors, some men choose to take a chance with it.
  • Risk factors of invasive penis enlargement methods
Looking at the high risk factors, invasive methods for penis enlargement are always a no-no. These methods should not be given a try. Penis implants and other invasive methods tend to show results after long-term usage. Below are some of the points that can give you a broad picture view of penis enlargement methods that you can choose from when you have both invasive and non-invasive methods as options.
Expensive: Cost is one of the biggest factors that go against invasive methods when it comes to penis enlargement. These surgeries cost a hefty amount of money, which is not worth spending looking at the risks that are associated with them. Also, you can get the same or better results from other safe methods in almost half the cost.
Risk of deformities: Yes, this can be a possibility as many men who have undergone penis enlargement surgeries have ended up getting a deformed penis which is of an odd shape. Peyronie's disease, abnormalities in the shape of the penis, or a bent penis are some of the problems that can happen after penis surgeries.
Temporary results: All penis surgeries do not offer a permanent solution and are temporary in nature. Over time, the penis starts to shrink and may get even shorter than it was earlier.
Risk of impotence: Some men have also found to suffer from erectile problems after undergoing a penis enlargement surgery. Erectile dysfunction and diminished sexual drive are common in men, who have gone for a penis enhancement surgery.
Pain: Pain in the genital areas and abdominal pain are often reported by men having gone through penis enlargement through invasive techniques.
  • Play safe with penis enlargement pills
Leaving the surgical methods of penis enlargement behind, you can choose non-invasive and safe methods that are much more permanent and effective to enlarge your penis size. The penis pills, penis patches, and penis extenders are some of the most widely used methods in this regard. VigRX and VigRX Plus are two of the most effective penis enlargement pills available in the market. VigRX pills contain natural ingredients and herbal extracts that enhance sexual performance in addition to adding length and girth to the penis.

Penis Enlargement Can Leave You Impotent and Insensitive

Looking at those porn studs, you may feel that your "pissing device" is just a little larger than an earthworm.

And you may be tempted to study more attentively those spam messages on penis enlargement.

Do not be a pigeon: if breast implants present their risks, the surgery of penis enlargement is extremely dangerous, as the possibilities that your penis may be left insensitive and impotent are very high.

If it were so easy, we all would be porn stars (at least we could try to be). In fact, for most men, there is no reason to even think about it, but here comes masculine vanity.

It's the locker-room syndrome: is mine smaller!?

But the size of the flaccid penis varies greatly, being of about 3 inches (7.5 cm) - the average, but shifting from 1 to 4 inches (2.5 to 10 cm) for most men, both between individuals and for the same individual (depending on temperature, physical effort and other factors).

These are scientific data gathered by researchers from US, Germany, Nigeria, Iran
and South Korea, and not those offered by net volunteers, which are greatly ballooned (again, male vanity).

Thus, the length of the flaccid penis is not a good indicator, as it varies for the same individual, but the length of the erect penis is much more uniform: 5 and 6 inches (12.5 cm to 15 cm) when erect, regardless of the size from which it may start out.

The erect penis is measured along the top part, from base to tip. An erect penis longer than 4 inches (10 cm) is large enough to stimulate erogenous portions of most muffs, but one larger than 8 inches (20 cm) can be disagreeable because it can touch the cervix. In fact, only 1 % of the men have penises equal to or larger than 7 inch (17.5 cm).

But pornography distorts the image of the men about their penises and most men seeking penis enlargement were found to be within the normal size.

Studies showed that men have the idea that a normal flaccid penis must be at least 5 inches (12.5 cm) due to porn media and few understand that those males are selected from a large pool and camera technique can make them look larger. In fact, those penises are more likely thicker than extremely large.

Thus, it is more of a psychological problem and few urologists operate a man whose erect penis is larger than 3 inches (7.5 cm). "Penile surgery has come a long way and has done a world of good for men who truly need it", said Dr. Karen Boyle, director of Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

This means men born with a congenital abnormality, who have suffered an injury, or who have severe erectile dysfunction and whose non-functional penis for copulation would outweigh any surgery risk. "The surgeries to perform elective penile enhancement that are advertised to enlarge a normal, functional penis do not work and... shouldn't be performed," Boyle said.

The most used technique is a fat transfer, but the result is a deformed penis, with lumps. The release of suspensory ligament, another operation aiming penis enlargement, can provoke infection, sensitivity loss and impotence.

Those annoying email ads offer three kinds of enhancement techniques: pills, pumps and exercises. Spam advertises herbal pill products, in fact just junk stuff aiming to extort the dupes. (similar bogus stuff exist for breast growth).

An obscure technique called jelqing, of unknown origin, can inflict nerve damage: you wipe a semi-erect penis following certain rules for about 30 minutes daily for months to enlarge the penile cavities that fill with blood. This makes no sense; but it damages your blood vessels, because you do it too hard or for too long, and this translates into impotence.

In fact, you know what?

Take this to satisfy your ego: a huge penis goes slower into erection...

So, you can imagine who will still do some hanky-panky at sixties...

Penis Enlargement: Does It Work?

Every guy knows pumps, pills, exercises, and surgery won’t build bigger penises -- Or do they?

By
WebMD Feature
Reviewed by Michael W. Smith, MD

Guys, be honest: Do you wish you were bigger? Almost certainly, the answer is yes.
"I think there isn't a guy in the world who hasn't wished his penis were an inch or two longer," says Michael O'Leary, MD, professor of urologic surgery at Harvard Medical School and a urologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
However, after more than a century of generally dubious and sometimes lunatic penis enlargement attempts, there's still not much you can do. Sure, there are lots and lots of supposed options out there -- penis pills, creams, brutal stretching exercises, horrific-looking devices, and penis surgery. Almost none of it works. The few approaches that can work often have modest benefits and serious side effects. How serious? In some cases, erectile dysfunction-serious.
"Trust me, if I knew of a way to safely and effectively increase penis size, I'd be a billionaire," O'Leary tells WebMD. "But I don't. Nobody does."
Still, common sense doesn't stop size-obsessed guys from trying very sketchy treatments on a vital part of their anatomy -- and risking a lot in the process.

How Small Is a Small Penis?

Think you're smaller than average? You're probably not.
The typical erect penis is usually 5 to 6 inches long with a circumference of 4 to 5 inches. There's more variation in the size of flaccid penises.
Some guys are genuinely smaller than that. In rare cases, genetics and hormone problems cause a condition called micropenis -- an erect penis of under 3 inches. Sometimes Peyronie's disease or prostate cancer surgery can reduce a guy's size.
But studies show that most of the guys seeking penis enlargement are average-sized. They just think they're below average.
Why? Part of it is perspective. It's very hard to gauge the size of your own penis -- looking down, you've got a bad angle.
Psychology plays a role, too. Some average-sized guys become obsessed with the idea that they're too small. There's even a psychiatric diagnosis: penile dysmorphic disorder. It's similar to the perceptual distortion of anorexics who think they're fat no matter how thin they get.
According to one study, the majority of men who get penis enlargement surgery have this condition. They're also the least satisfied with the results.

What Works: Weight Loss

There is one safe and effective method for getting a larger-looking penis: weight loss.
"A lot of men who think that they have a small penis are overweight," says Jennifer Berman, MD, a urologist in Beverly Hills and co-author of Secrets of the Sexually Satisfied Woman.
Losing weight will reveal more of that hidden shaft that's buried beneath belly fat. It doesn't actually increase your size, but it will look that way.
For guys who would rather have a surgical procedure than eat less, liposuction of the fat pad around the penis can work. Still, the effects aren't permanent -- if you don't change your eating habits, your penis will once again sink into your belly, like a pier at high tide.

Penis Enlargement: Pills, Creams, and Devices

What else is there? Here's a rundown of some unsavory options.
  • The vacuum pump. This is a cylinder that sucks out air. You stick your penis in and the resulting vacuum draws extra blood into it, making it erect and a little bigger. You then clamp off the penis with a tight ring -- like a tourniquet -- to keep the blood from leaking back into your body. What are the drawbacks? The effect only lasts as long as you have the ring on. Using it for more than 20 to 30 minutes can cause tissue damage.
  • Stretching with weights. Weights or stretching exercises won't bulk up your penis -- it's not a muscle. But hanging weights off your flaccid penis may stretch it a bit, O'Leary says. The catch is that it requires a freakish degree of dedication. "You might have to wear a weight strapped to your penis eight hours a day for six months," says O'Leary. At the end of it, you could be lucky enough to gain about half an inch. Risks include tearing of the tissue, burst blood vessels, and other problems.
  • Pills, supplements, ointments, and creams. They don't work. None of them. "I think it's safe to say that all of that stuff is complete nonsense," Berman says.

Penis Enlargement Surgery

What about surgery? It can work, but there are a lot of cautions. There are two basic penis enlargement surgeries.
  • Lengthening the penis. The most common procedure is to cut the ligament that connects the penis to the pelvic bone. This allows a little more of the shaft -- on average less than an inch -- to become visible outside the body. It's not really lengthening the penis so much as revealing more of what's usually hidden. To prevent the ligament from reattaching, a guy would need weights or stretching devices daily for about six months.
  • Widening the penis. For men who think their penis is too thin, more controversial procedures can thicken it using implanted fat, silicone, or tissue grafts.
One newer -- and low-risk -- procedure can work for certain men. In some cases, the scrotum attaches high up on the shaft of the penis. Partially disconnecting the scrotum can reveal more of the shaft, making the penis look longer. The surgery takes 20 minutes and can be done on an outpatient basis, O'Leary says.

Penis Enlargement Surgery Risks

Before you take out a penile improvement loan and unbuckle your pants, consider the risks of lengthening or widening surgery.
There are no well-studied approaches. No major medical organization approves of these surgeries. Some guys opt to travel to other countries for treatments that aren't approved in the U.S. If that thought has crossed your mind, slow down -- it's time to have a frank talk with your doctor about the risks you'd be taking.
The side effects of lengthening surgeries are numerous and include infections, nerve damage, reduced sensitivity, and difficulty getting an erection. Perhaps most disturbing, scarring can leave you with a penis that's shorter than what you started with. Widening the penis is even more controversial. Side effects can be unsightly -- a lumpy, bumpy, uneven penis.
The few studies that have been done aren't encouraging. The European Urologystudy looked at 42 men who had procedures to lengthen their penises by cutting the suspensory ligament and found that only 35% were satisfied with the results. Half went on to get more surgery.

Reconsidering Penis Enlargement

Wishing you were a little bigger is common. If it's becoming a fixation, stop and think before you do something rash.
Talking to a doctor or a therapist can help. Research has found that when a doctor honestly reassures a guy that his penis is average-sized, he is likely to stop searching for surgery.
You also need to be on guard against phony claims for miracle penis enlargement.
"The main target for penis enlargement advertising is insecure guys who think all their power lies in their penises," says Berman. "These guys are easy victims."
Ian Kerner, a sex counselor in New York, says that the imagined glories of a gargantuan penis are not all they're cracked up to be.
"When it comes to penis size, being average is really where you want to be," says Kerner, the author of books including She Comes First. "Having a penis that's too big can be a much larger problem -- pun unintended -- than one that's too small." For guys who are too big for their partners, oral or vaginal sex can be difficult.
"Size really doesn't matter nearly as much as being a good and creative lover," Kerner tells WebMD. "How you use your brains, your hands, your mouth, and everything else -- that's what counts in the bedroom."
So consider: A quest for a bigger penis could leave you with a lumpy, bruised, discolored, thickened, painful, dysfunctional member. (Not to mention a drained bank account.) Does risking the inches you have for the hope of an extra half inch make sense?

Penis health: Identify and prevent problems

Penis health is an important part of men's health — and it goes beyond your ability to get and keep an erection, ejaculate and reproduce.
Penis problems can be a sign of an underlying health condition. Ongoing health issues affecting your penis also can impact other areas of your life, causing stress or relationship problems and harming your self-confidence. Know the signs and symptoms of penis problems and what you can do to protect your penis health.

What affects penis health?

Various factors can affect penis health — some modifiable and some not. For example:
  • Unprotected sex. You can contract a sexually transmitted infection if you have unprotected sex.
  • Heart disease and diabetes. Restricted blood flow caused by diabetes and atherosclerosis — hardening of the arteries — can cause erectile dysfunction.
  • Certain medications and treatments. Certain medications and treatments can affect your penis health. For example, surgical removal of the prostate gland (radical prostatectomy) and surrounding tissue as treatment for prostate cancer might cause urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction.
  • Smoking. Smoking doubles your risk of erectile dysfunction.
  • Hormone levels. Hormone imbalances, such as testosterone deficiency or too much of the hormone prolactin, have been linked to erectile dysfunction.
  • Psychological problems. Depression can cause a loss of libido. Likewise, if you experience an erection problem, you might be concerned that it'll happen again — causing anxiety or depression. This can compound the problem and lead to impotence. Trauma — such as child abuse — can lead to pain associated with sex.
  • Neurological conditions. Stroke, spinal cord and back injuries, multiple sclerosis and dementia can affect the transfer of nerve impulses from the brain to the penis, causing erectile dysfunction.
  • Getting older. Testosterone levels decline normally as you age. This might lead to a decrease in sexual interest, a need for more stimulation to achieve and maintain an erection, a less forceful ejaculation and a need for more time before you can achieve another erection.
  • Piercings. A penis piercing can cause skin infections.
  • Aggressive or acrobatic sex or masturbation. If your penis is bent suddenly or forcefully while erect, the trauma might cause a penis fracture. Penis fractures are rare.

What are the most common penis problems?

Conditions that can affect your penis include:
  • Erection or ejaculation problems. These might include the inability to get and keep an erection firm enough for sex (erectile dysfunction) or, uncommonly, a persistent and usually painful erection that isn't caused by sexual stimulation or arousal (priapism). Other concerns might include the inability to ejaculate, premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, painful ejaculation and retrograde ejaculation, when semen enters the bladder instead of emerging through the penis.
  • Sexually transmitted infections. Various sexually transmitted infections can affect the penis, including genital warts, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and genital herpes. Common signs and symptoms might include painful urination, penis discharge, and sores or blisters on the penis or in the genital area.
  • Problems with the foreskin. A condition known as phimosis occurs when the foreskin on an uncircumcised penis can't be retracted from the penis head. Paraphimosis occurs when the foreskin can't be returned to its normal position after being retracted.
  • Other diseases and conditions. A yeast infection can cause a reddish rash and white patches on the penis. Inflammation of the head of the penis (balanitis) might cause pain and a foul discharge. Peyronie's disease, a chronic condition that involves the development of abnormal scar tissue in tissues inside the penis, might result in bent or painful erections. Penile cancer — which might begin as a blister on the foreskin, head or shaft of the penis and then become a wart-like growth that discharges watery pus — also is a rare possibility.
  • What are signs or symptoms of penis problems?

Consult your doctor as soon as possible if you have:
    • Changes in the way you ejaculate
    • Bleeding during urination or ejaculation
    • Warts, bumps, lesions or a rash on your penis or in your genital area
    • A severely bent penis or curvature that causes pain or interferes with sexual activity
    • A burning sensation when you urinate
    • Discharge from your penis
    • Severe pain after trauma to your penis

What can I do to keep my penis healthy?

You can take steps to protect your penis health and overall health. For example:
    • Be sexually responsible. Use condoms or maintain a mutually monogamous relationship with a partner who's been tested and is free of sexually transmitted infections.
    • Get vaccinated. If you're age 26 or younger, consider the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to help prevent genital warts.
    • Stay physically active. Moderate physical activity can significantly reduce your risk of erectile dysfunction.
    • Practice good hygiene. If you're not circumcised, regularly clean beneath your foreskin with soap and water.
    • Know your medications. Discuss medication use and possible side effects with your doctor.
    • Pay attention to your mental health. Seek treatment for depression and other mental health conditions.
    • Stop smoking and limit the amount of alcohol you drink. If you smoke, take the first step and decide to quit — then ask your doctor for help.
    • Regular use. Frequent sex or sexual activity might help you maintain erectile function.
Remember, some penis problems can't be prevented. However, routinely examining your penis can give you greater awareness of the condition of your penis and help you detect changes. Regular checkups can also help ensure that problems affecting your penis are diagnosed as soon as possible.
While you might find it difficult to discuss problems affecting your penis with your doctor, don't let embarrassment prevent you from taking charge of your health.

So, it's important for you to get a right guide to follow to enlarge your penis naturally

The following are some simple steps to help you get a bigger penis

1. Massage your penis until you achieve semi-erection. It is not good to have full erection because you might ejaculate during the early parts. This will not make jelqing successful.
2. Make an okay sign with the thumb and index finger of your left hand. With this, clasp the head of your penis. Make sure that you grip it well but without causing discomfort.
3. Gently stretch the penis with this hand.
4. Now make another okay sign with the thumb and index finger of the right hand.
5. Wrap this at the base of the penis shaft. From there pull it up until you reach the head.
6. Return the grip at the base and pull your fingers up again.
7. Do these steps for about five minutes.
